Rollason House involved an ambitious modernisation of a double-fronted Victorian terrace house for a young family.
Contemporary materials were integrated throughout the period house to form unique living spaces. A curved stainless steel shower was projected from a two-storey extension, and an unusually deep bay window was added to the ground floor to create a rest and reading spot with a sweeping vista of the garden.
The project challenged both the materiality and fabrication processes of domestic construction, involving the use of industrial design processes to fabricate highly ambitious curved glass and metal cladding elements that are usually reserved for commercial-scale projects.
